Poland mourns president's death in crash

We will remember 10th April forever as well as we will always commemorate soldiers murdered in Katyn in April 1940.

Poland mourns president's death in crash

We were struck dumb with horror and grief after we’ve got to know about the plane crash in Smoleńsk.

Thousands gathered outside Warsaw's presidential palace on Saturday evening to lay flowers and light candles in honor of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who was killed in a plane crash in western Russia on Saturday 10th at 8:56 in the morning. Kaczynski's wife and several top military officials were also killed in the crash. "There is going to be a huge gap in public life in Poland, the most important people are dead.”. 96 people were killed when the plane carrying our distinguished stateman crashed as it was trying to land at an airport near the city of Smolensk.

Polish delegation had been traveling to Russia for the 70th anniversary of the Russian massacre of Polish prisoners of war in the village of Katyn. Some 20,000 Poles, including soldiers and civilians, were executed there during World War II. They died because they wanted to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.

SPORT AND POLISH TEENAGERS

SPORT AND POLISH TEENAGERS
The most popular sport in Koluszki is football. After school we often play it on "Blisko boisko" pitch. There is a football club next to our school. It's called KKS Koluszki. Some students play basketball, volleyball and handball. We have already some successes in these sports. In the picture you can see our girls during a match that they've won. Our E-Twinning bloggers play these sports too: Kamil Siedlecki trains in KKS Koluszki and Seweryn Bączyk is a very good handball goalkeeper.
Let us know what are your favourite sports?

This New Year...

One of the Irish toast says: "This New Year, may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship, never in want." We wish our hands were stretched in mutual friendship.
Best regards from Poland
